Located at the interface between the old 13^th district of Paris and the new, it has to express the link between these two time scales. In our minds, the metaphor of the ship is clearly inspired by the form of its “prow” volume and its insular urban situation. On the street, the building was designed as a large carved-out mass. It consists of a thick hardscaped envelope in white ceramic material that has large transparent window openings placed flush with the internal wall face, which run along the facades with a discreet harmonic rhythm, while expressing the corners.
