The city on the slope: a topography to match an urban context. A major specific feature of the Chateaucreux site is its strong rooting in the geographical and landscape environment of the hills around Saint Etienne. The building tends to accompany the dialogue with the horizon and to highlight the force lines of the cityscape and the geographical landscape. It revives a specific urban character in its special relationship with the public place that is both hardscaped and softscaped. The U-shaped hs 4 storeys and the configuration allows flexible interior spaces. Every level is visually extended with accessible large planted balconies to provide visual and spatial comfort for work spaces, most of which are through spaces or have a double aspect.
